High Performance Computing in Ghana to support research and promote coordinated research among research institutions.

In the first quarter of 2017, the Center for High Performance Computing in Cape Town South Africa (CHPC), a National HPC facility which started operations in 2007, funded by DST and managed by CSIR SA in collaboration with CSIR Ghana, and the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI) agreed to host a High Performance Computing (HPC) facility donated by CHPC at CSIR-INSTI.

The Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI) is to set up an innovation and technology commercialization center to help highlight various technology and innovations in the research and development arena of Ghana and of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and also  to help research move beyond the lab and into the marketplace.

The TCU will connect faculty with companies, public research institutes, universities and the private sector in Licensing technology for the development of new products and services that benefit the public good, Fostering economic growth, Generating revenue that supports research and innovation.
